
Yusuf Ayodeji Ajani is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS), currently serving as a Lecturer II at the University of Abuja, Nigeria. A Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN), Ajani is an active member of several esteemed professional organizations, including the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), the Nigerian Association of Library and Information Science Educators (NALISE), the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), the Association of Academic Qualitative Research Likeminds (AAQREL), and the African Library and Information Associations and Institutions (AfLIA). Ajani’s research interests are at the intersection of emerging technologies and library services. He focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and the metaverse into library operations, aiming to enhance user experience and service delivery. His work on the adoption of robotic technology in Nigerian public libraries has provided valuable insights into improving information service delivery in the digital age. In recognition of his scholarly contributions, Ajani was honored with the Emerald Literati Award in 2023 for his outstanding paper, “Robots and the Public Libraries.” This accolade underscores his innovative approach to addressing contemporary challenges in the LIS field. With over 100 publications in reputable local and international journals, Ajani has significantly contributed to the body of knowledge in LIS. His collaborative works often address critical issues such as the readiness of academic libraries to integrate artificial intelligence, the impact of open access resources, and the role of libraries in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Beyond his academic pursuits, Ajani is passionate about mentoring the next generation of LIS professionals. He actively engages in workshops and conferences, sharing his expertise and fostering discussions on the future of libraries in a rapidly evolving information landscape.
